Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my order?
To maximize our donations to our non-profit partners, and keep shipping costs low for our customers, shipments are sent directly from our artists. Please allow 2-3 weeks for orders to ship within the contiguous United States. At this time, we unfortunately cannot accept international orders or ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
How do I get free shipping?
We ship packages* worth $500 and over for free within the contiguous United States if you use the code FREESHIP500.
For orders less than $500, shipping to the US costs $7.
*What’s a package? Since our items are shipped directly from our artists, we pay shipping on each individual package we send out. Even if you buy multiple pieces in one order they'll be shipped as separate packages, and we charge for each. This will all be worked out at the checkout so you can see how much we’re charging before you confirm your order.
Refunds and Returns
My order didn't arrive, what do I do?
We make every effort to get your artwork to you as soon as possible. However, sometimes shipping errors happen! If more than ten business days have passed since you received a shipping confirmation email from us, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can look into the problem. You must contact us within 2 months of the shipping date for us to be able to help.
When possible, lost items can be resent to the customer for an additional fee. Please keep in mind that some of the items that Creating United Empowerment sells are original pieces of art and cannot be resent or duplicated.
What is your refund policy?
Unfortunately, we are unable to exchange or refund items that have been delivered. If you have not received your items or received the wrong item, please refer to the question above.
How do you keep my credit card details secure when I'm ordering online?
All of our transactions are processed by a company called Stripe through their secure online payments portal.
Stripe is one of the leading global platforms for online payments processing and security is a top priority. Our staff don't even have access to the credit card details of our customers, as these are retained and secured only by Stripe. You can find more about their security measures here.
Where Does the Money Go?
40% of the retail price from each purchase will be donated to our nonprofit partners. We focus this support on survivors of sexual/domestic violence, LGBTQIA+ women, and women of ethnic/racial minorities. We will rotate our nonprofit recipients to provide support to a diverse group of organizations.
25% of the retail price will go to the artists. Founded by artists, Creating United Empowerment will always go above and beyond to protect artist’s rights. We will never ask any artist in our community to do work for exposure.
The remaining 35% will go to Creating United Empowerment so that we can continue to make a difference in our community. This 35% will go towards transaction fees, website maintenance, operations costs, and investing into the future growth of the organization.
How do I become a CUE artist?
We are always looking for new professional artists to join our community. Artists receive 25% of the retail price, Creating United Empowerment handles all the marketing and customer service, and you’re contributing to an important cause!
Creating United Empowerment is currently accepting all mediums of visual art. Please keep in mind that you will have to ship the artwork, so please keep the size reasonable. Do you work with a timebased medium like video, sound, or animation? We can sell work that is available for download after purchase! There is no limit to the number of pieces you can submit.

I'm a CUE Artist and I sold a piece of art, how do I get paid?
Use our Current Artists page to submit information about the order. You should have received a password with your order notification email. If you need the password resent to you, contact us at email@example.com. Please refer to the FAQ section of that page for artist specific questions.
